The Best LA Trauma Treatment Center

When you hear Los Angeles, what may automatically come to mind are images of sandy beaches, palm trees, clear blue skies, and of course, Hollywood. But like any thriving metropolis, it can also be a place that harbors dark images and traumatic memories. Add to that the everyday stressors like pollution, traffic, road rage, and more — LA can suddenly become a petri dish for anxiety and trauma.

For someone with mental health problems, everything suddenly becomes even tougher.  Not everyone can thrive in a big city, and the pressure to maintain a sunny disposition in a sunny place like LA can be just downright exhausting.

Luckily, Angelinos can find a safe haven where they can go and seek the help they need from highly skilled therapists who have made it their life’s work to provide the best care possible for those who need gentle guidance back to healing.

Trauma and Beyond Treatment Programs

Trauma and Beyond Center ® believes that a holistic approach to healing is the best chance for a full recovery. This is why we offer a variety of treatment options that you can choose from.

Affect Regulation

Also called emotional regulation is a method wherein we teach our patients to regulate or modulate their emotions to be able to adapt to stressful situations and prevent extreme reactions like  hypervigilance or hypovigilance.

Art Therapy

Facilitated by a professional art therapist, this method is a non-verbal treatment method that is used to enhance cognitive and sensory-motor functions, improve self-esteem and self-awareness, develop psychological resilience, promote insight, refine interpersonal skills and lessen conflicts and distress.

Somatic Experiencing

Developed by Peter Levine, PhD, it is a treatment method that focuses on the body and highlights sensations and movements of the body, the aim is to release the pent-up tension within the body brought on by trauma.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy

Developed by Pat Ogden, PhD, it’s a comprehensive program that uses the entire body as the principal source of information for processing traumatic experiences.  It integrates the sensory and physical experience, in addition to emotions and thoughts, as part of the individual’s complete experience of the trauma itself and the process of recovery.

Mindfulness Therapy

This is a method that integrates practices in mindfulness such as breathing exercises and meditation. Clients are taught how to avoid negative thought patterns that could lead to a depressed state

Trauma Resiliency Model

Developed by Elaine Miller-Karas, LCSW and Laurie Leitch, PhD, this is a body-centered approach that explores the biology of fear and the autonomic defensive responses that occur when an individual is faced with a life-threatening and/or dangerous situation. It teaches the skill of connecting with inner resources and facilitates the development of new resilient neural circuits.

The goal of this treatment method is to change these distorted thought patterns and subsequent behaviors to help the patient see challenging situations more accurately and respond to them appropriately.
