About Cherie:
Cherie Nassi is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist. She has over 13 years of experience in facilitating support groups and conducting individual and family therapy. Cherie started her career in family support services working with the Department of Children and Family Services. She then moved to Palisades Charter High School where she led support groups for adolescents with chronic illness and children of parents with illness. During that time, she began her training at the Cancer Support Community, facilitating support groups for individuals going through a cancer diagnosis and/or treatment. Cherie then transitioned to UCLA Simms/Mann Center for Integrated Oncology where she worked directly with Oncologists and nursing staff in the infusion clinics. At UCLA she provided psychosocial support to patients and their families as part of a multi-interdisciplinary approach to cancer care. Cherie then returned to the Cancer support Community and established a support group for individuals and caregivers at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica. She currently works with individuals, caregivers and families in her private practice. Her focus is to support individuals and their loved ones while addressing important life issues and transitions.
