About Rachel:
Rachel received her bachelor’s degree at U.C. Berkeley in Psychology with a minor in education, and her Master’s in Social Welfare at UCLA with a concentration in child and family well-being. Rachel is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in childhood and complex trauma, family and relational dynamics, and severe anxiety disorders. She is currently trained in several therapeutic modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Rachel began her career working with children and families in community mental health as an outpatient school-based therapist, where she developed a systems-oriented lens and approach in working with her clients. She then went on to work in mental health treatment and has worked in all levels of care, which includes residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient for both adults and children. Rachel also has experience working with eating disorders, severe anxiety disorders, borderline personality disorder, and other personality disorders.
Rachel is passionate about working with complex trauma and incorporating an integrative and systems-level approach in treating her clients. She believes in empowering her clients by using a collaborative approach that considers all of their needs, values, and facets of their identities. She believes in an open-minded, collaborative, and genuine approach when connecting with and providing support for her clients in meeting their goals. She currently teaches Multicultural Practice at Pepperdine University as an Adjunct Professor and works in private practice in Encino and west LA with individuals, couples and families.
