About Dr. LaPierre:

Dr. Aline LaPierre is the co-author of Healing Developmental Trauma: How Trauma Affects Self-Regulation, Self-Image, and the Capacity for Relationship, an essential guide for anyone seeking to heal complex PTSD and looking for tools to support post-traumatic growth. She taught in the Somatic Doctoral Program at Santa Barbara Graduate Institute for ten years and is the current President of the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy (USABP).

Dr. LaPierre is the founder and director of The NeuroAffective Touch Institute. She is the creator of NeuroAffective Touch® introducing mental health professionals and bodyworkers to body-mind integration as a vital relational therapeutic bridge to overcoming developmental trauma.

Currently, Dr. LaPierre is Editor-in-Chief of The International Body Psychotherapy Journal (IBPJ). Trained in psychoanalytic and Jungian psychology, she is also a seasoned somatic psychotherapist and bodyworker. Her interest lies in building collaborative bridges between the somatic, psychological, and psychoanalytic fields.
