About Shelle:

Dr. Shelle Welty is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of complex and acute trauma. Her interest in learning about the process of psychological healing has led her to pursue degrees in multiple disciplines (B.S. in Biology, M.A. in Counseling, M.A. in Theology and a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology) and seek out opportunities to learn from many cultures. Informed by all of these experiences, she uses an integrative approach to therapy that targets specific symptoms with evidence-based approaches while working from a holistic framework of spirituality, somatic work and attachment-based approaches.

Shelle is trained in multiple modalities of trauma treatment and in treatments that build effective relational skills, promote healthy thinking, and increase intentionality toward values-based living. Above all else, Shelle values a collaborative approach to treatment that empowers clients and focuses on client strengths. Shelle has worked with patients in both long-term and acute hospital settings, foster children and their support systems, veterans, victims of sexual assault, college students, athletes, humanitarian aid workers and refugees, among others.
