About Eric:
Eric Weiss, LMFT, focuses on depression, anxiety and trauma-related concerns. In addition to a Master’s Degree from Antioch University, Los Angeles, he has received advanced training in Narrative and Gestalt modalities at the Southern California Counseling Center, CRM/TRM at the Trauma Resource Institute, EMDR, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. For over a decade, he has been a part of the Mankind Project, which supports men developing authentic masculinity and dealing with toxic shame.
Eric’s work is informed by his background as an actor, director, and photographer. Across those disciplines and into his therapeutic work, Eric has maintained an abiding inquiry into how we allow ourselves to see, be seen, and be met. What started as an outward, artistic expression has deepened over time into an inner exploration of healing as an essential, creative act.
Eric aims to help connect to and express one’s purpose; to thrive. To this end, he obtained an additional Master of Arts in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. This training adds spirituality to the body-mind connection that supports us tapping into our highest self and power.
His approach is based in an understanding of the importance of the body-mind connection and includes a somatic focus. This approach recognizes that the client has the necessary resources available within them, and supports the discovery and bringing forth of these inherent strengths.
