About Leslee

Leslee has pursued specialized training in leading edge new and innovative mind-body therapies to provide the expertise to treat clients suffering from the entire spectrum of traumatic life experiences ranging from the developmental trauma resulting from growing up with the family stress of challenging parents, child abuse and neglect to events like accidents, assaults, and medical-surgical stressors.

Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). Somatic Experiencing (SE; traumahealing.org ) is perhaps the preeminent body mind therapy. SE revolutionized treatment for PTSD, as the first truly mind-body treatment for PTSD, working directly with the nervous system. SE is an evidence-based therapy developed to resolve simple PTSD and other trauma reactions from traumatic events.

NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) Practitioner.  NARM (drlaurenceheller.com) is a new and Groundbreaking Mind-Body psychotherapy.  It’s the first body-mind therapy developed specifically to heal developmental trauma. NARM helps adults recover from the often confusing struggles with anxiety, depression, self-judgement, guilt and shame that come from growing up in highly stressful family environments. The links between these chronic problems and family-of-origin trauma are often not clear to clients.

Certified Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR (emdr.com) is a widely recognized and leading evidence-based therapy that reduces PTSD and other trauma reactions. It is a form of psychotherapy that utilizes eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation of the body to assist clients in processing traumatic events to reduce PTSD.

Movement Therapy. Many times the body can express through movement what the mind is unable to express verbally and in this way release and reduce trauma-held in the body.

Leslee is excited to share these newer mind/body psycho physiological therapies which are effective in repairing early developmental attachment ruptures which manifested in neurological deficits, chronic bracing, collapse, dissociation, patterns present in states of self-fragmentation.

Working in present time awareness, clients learn self-compassion and tools to understand this “survival strategy” which helped them to manage their family environmental failures in childhood, but is creating  unfulfilling and limiting responses in their life’s current stresses.

Leslee’s gentle mind/body (somatic/cognitive) modalities leads clients to their authentic selves while rewiring their brain’s neuronal network’s, (neuroplasticity). Clients gain new automatic responses, reconnected to their inherent capacity to set healthy boundaries, feel grounded in their own body, be more spontaneous and creative, have loving relationships and enjoy more rich and fulfilling lives.

Leslee’s excited to bring her expertise in mind/body/spirit modalities to this leading edge treatment model, Trauma & Beyond Psychological Center.
