Trauma Resiliency Model

Trauma Resiliency Model and Other Treatment Modalities Online

Have you suffered or witnessed something traumatic, which has led to fears and anxiety that have held you back in life? Do you feel like you’re not always (or rarely) in control of your emotions and you don’t know why? Here at the Trauma and Beyond Psychological Center(R),

we offer many different treatment modalities that can help. The Trauma Resiliency Model has helped many of our clients. During this recent pandemic, it’s one of the modalities used in teletherapy that we offer.  Teletherapy allows us to protect the safety of our clients as well as our staff.

Trauma Resiliency Model

Teletherapy is Real Therapy

For some, there’s a natural concern that, somehow, teletherapy isn’t “true” therapy, and that it won’t lead to the same results that in-person therapy would. The truth is that many studies have shown that it can be just as effective. With today’s free, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing technology, it’s easier than ever to have an effective therapy session from practically anywhere. Here at Trauma and Beyond(R), our professionals can help you to get set up for therapy sessions or Intensive Outpatient or Day-treatment all online.  You can receive the same services from the comfort of your home.

How Teletherapy Can Benefit Certain Forms of Therapy

When people think of a teletherapy session, they tend to think that they’re all going to be just CBT sessions. However, we offer so many of our other therapy modalities virtually. The Trauma Resiliency Model, for example, is very well-attuned to teletherapy. The nine skills that the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) teaches clients for self-regulation are meant to be learned and worked out in therapy, but then be utilized outside of therapy as well. Teletherapy can make that transition easier, as you’ll be “out of the therapist’s office” the second you log off.

Skills to Deal with Trauma

In a very real way, that’s what the TRM model helps patients to develop. Initially designed as both a self-care model and a trauma reprocessing treatment, these skills can be used to rebalance and reset the nervous system. Through this, you can develop a way to self-manage those intense emotions and physical feelings that might have been too much previously. There’s a reason for the reference to resiliency: this treatment can help someone deepen their own resources while increasing their capacity for tolerating distress. These are the kinds of skills that lead to greater self-confidence, making it more possible for you to lead the life that you want.
