New Groups Starting January
Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy
Tuesdays at 3 pm.
This group will focus on supporting clients to reconnect to felt sense, using breath and movement towards regulation and increased resilience, using yoga, meditation, and breath. Led by Celeste Mendelsohn, C-IAYT, ERYT500.
Tuesdays at 5:30 pm.
This process group offers a safe, supportive space for women to begin to explore their own traumatic experiences, and to provide empathy and supportive feedback to other group members. The focus of this group is on expanding clients’ Windows of Tolerance for coping with traumatic material as well as identifying and then transforming limiting beliefs stemming from traumatic experiences. Healthy coping mechanisms and skills are also reinforced in this group. (Clients must have an individual therapist to be in this group).
CO-ED TRAUMA SKILLS GROUP FOR INCREASING EMOTIONAL REGULATION
Group Starting Thursdays at 6:30 pm
TRAUMA SKILLS group focuses on supporting clients towards integration of emotions, sensations, and thoughts. Clients will be provided psychoeducation on the physiological responses to trauma along with how the brain and feelings learn to handle trauma. Skills building exercises will lead towards the achievement of a greater capacity for self-soothing, connection, healthy relationship with anger, and expression of needs. This will be cultivated through mindfulness practices, resource building, and group support. The group’s containing and grounded environment will encourage curiosity about self and relationship to others.
Mindfulness and Somatic/DBT Informed Trauma Skills Group
Friday’s at 10 am.
This group is designed to specifically assist individuals in better managing behaviors, emotions, and thoughts while working with day-to-day challenges and applying DBT skills. Focus on self-compassion and the development of the four modules of Dialectic Behavior Therapy, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. 10 week series.
