About Patti

Patti earned her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Counseling at California State University Northridge. Patti began her career as a therapist at the San Fernando Valley Counseling Center, and was an associate with the West Coast Counseling Center for four years. Most recently Patti has treated clients from Kaiser-Permanente and in private practice, specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, relationships, and more.

I primarily utilize psychodynamic therapy methods along with humor and compassion and other modalities. I was inspired by my own therapy and life journey to enhance positive development in others and help them build healthy, successful relationships. I am trained in and practice EMDR, the leading treatment for trauma. I specialize in healing from trauma, loss, bereavement, navigating life transitions, geriatrics and more.

“I want to help clients to make positive choices, particularly people who have lacked the opportunity to or knowledge of how to do so and get to the root causes of unwanted behaviors or habits. There is nothing greater to me than witnessing someone experiencing an authentic psychological or spiritual change.”

I believe that emotional healing is critical to our health and resiliency and that I am a guide for the client on a sometimes treacherous, sometimes smooth, and ultimately rewarding journey. I incorporate a variety of methods and a collaborative approach that allow clients to move forward and live a fulfilling life, through any changes and/or transitions.

I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), the leading protocol around the world for healing from symptoms and suffering of complex trauma (repeated traumatic childhood events that contribute to maladaptive development), PTSD, acute stress, ongoing or acute sexual, physical and/or mental abuse, witnessing abuse, etc.

I work with clients to tap into their inner strengths, creativity and spirit and to trust that there are the resources around them to help heal their bodies and souls.
